Keystroke logs are what our investigations run on. What replaces them?
A hash-chained, append-only trail of what was accessed, changed and exported, where a deleted row breaks the chain detectably — plus egress and integrity signals. It is a different kind of evidence: weaker on reconstructing exactly what somebody typed, considerably stronger on proving the log itself was not edited afterwards.

Switching
Bringing your Controlio history across
Nobody switches tools if it means abandoning a year of history. Export yours as CSV and the importer maps it onto our columns. There is no dedicated Controlio preset yet, so expect to line the columns up once rather than not at all.

Six columns, mapped once on the first import. Rows that cannot be normalised still pass through, so the importer reports exactly which ones need attention rather than rejecting the file.

Imported hours sit on the same ledger as everything captured after them, so a week from before the switch and a week from after it are read the same way. Corrections append with an author and a reason rather than overwriting, which is what lets you answer why a number changed long after anyone remembers.

- Does WorkMonitor log keystrokes?
- It counts key events to derive an activity signal, and it does not capture what was typed. If keystroke content is a hard requirement for your investigations, that is a genuine reason to stay where you are.
- How do I move my Controlio data into WorkMonitor?
- Export it as CSV and the importer maps it onto our columns — email, date, minutes, project, task, note. There is no dedicated preset for this vendor yet, so the columns get lined up once on the first import. Keystroke and recording history is not imported, by design. The time series lands; the evidence layer starts fresh on an append-only trail.
- Can WorkMonitor record screens?
- It captures screenshots under a policy you set, with randomised cadence, blur mode and an application deny list applied on the device. It does not do continuous session recording, and there is no covert mode.
- What stops an administrator from editing the monitoring record?
- The trail is hash-chained and append-only, so a removal breaks the chain and the break is detectable. Every read is logged too — investigators and administrators included — and surfaced to the subject.
- Does WorkMonitor integrate with our SIEM?
- Yes, through a SIEM export, a typed read-only v1 API and HMAC-signed webhooks, so it feeds the security tooling you already run rather than adding another console to watch.
- Is the audit trail included in every WorkMonitor plan?
- The append-only trail is part of the platform, not a compliance upsell. Two seats are free and the tiers above it are published in full on the pricing page.
