25 comparisons, reviewed September 7, 2026
Every comparison, including the ones we lose.
Every vendor on a shortlist claims to win. These 25 say what each tool is built for, read every WorkMonitor capability from one catalogue, and name the case where the other one wins.
Free for two seats, no card. Written from public materials, and dated.
What the 25 pages keep returning to: your client checks the hours themselves, on a public page, without an account and without being shown a folder of screenshots of their own work.
The category difference
Three kinds of tool, and you are the join between them
Nobody sets out to buy three tools. You buy one for capture, one for hours, one for the evidence — and then every month somebody exports from each and re-keys it into the next. The joins are where the numbers stop agreeing, and not one of the 25 tools below owns them.
- Employee monitoringScreenshot-based monitoring · Capture
Export the screenshots into a deck, which exposes the client’s own data to prove you worked on it.
- Time trackingTimer-based time tracking · Hours and money
Export, reformat, paste into payroll or invoicing, then reconcile to find what got mangled.
- Insider risk & DLPActivity-logging and insider-risk tools · Evidence
Deleting rows from a log table leaves no evidence that rows were deleted.
- Capture
- Hours
- Money
- Evidence
One capture policy, one rate engine and one hash-chained trail from the hour to the certificate. Approved hours seed the invoice and the payroll run directly, and a finalised invoice issues proof the client verifies without an account. Nothing to reconcile, because nothing was ever apart.
The index
Every comparison we have written
Start from the tool you are on today. Each page opens on what that tool is for, in its own framing, before it says a word about ours — then marks every WorkMonitor capability read from the product catalogue.
- 01
Their side is category-level
Each comparison describes how that kind of tool works — capture intervals, activity percentages, a ledger per tool — which the vendors document themselves. No row asserts a fact about one company’s feature matrix, because a feature matrix for each of 25 vendors cannot be kept current.
- 02
Our side is generated, not typed
Everything we claim comes from the product catalogue rather than from copy written for this page. A capability removed there disappears from all 25 pages, and the day one ships every page changes with it.
- 03
Every page says when they win
Each one names the case where the other tool is the better answer, and carries the date it was last checked. There are no outbound links to vendor sites: a link we have not re-checked is a link that rots.
All 25. “Import preset” means the importer already reads that tool’s export format.

Why the losses are on the page
We would rather lose here than three weeks into your rollout.
Every one of the 25 names a case where the other tool is the better buy, and carries the date it was last checked.
Word for word
Where the other tool is the better answer
Each of the 25 pages carries this section above its closing call to action, not under it. Here are 5, lifted straight off them.
You want continuous GPS breadcrumbing of a field workforce through the working day. We record presence at a job site when someone clocks in, and deliberately do not trace a route between them.
You want a decade-deep library of pre-built reports above all else, and are content for the hours behind them to rest on the vendor’s word.
Covert monitoring is a requirement for you. We do not build for it. Consent records and an employee-facing view are the design, not a setting.
You want a timer people genuinely enjoy using and no monitoring layer whatsoever. That is a legitimate position and we are not it.
You need full DLP with real-time blocking. We produce egress signals, not enforcement, and that is a genuine difference.
Where those are gaps in what we ship rather than differences of opinion, they carry the same capabilities read from the product pages as they do here. That is the only way a comparison written by one side of it is worth reading at all.
Switching
Your history comes across with you
- 1
Export what you have
The CSV your current tool already produces is the input. Nothing in it gets re-typed by hand.
- 2
Mapped, not re-keyed
For 5 of the 25 tools above, the importer already reads that vendor’s header names, dates and durations. For the rest you line six columns up once: email, date, minutes, project, task, note.
- 3
It lands on one ledger
Imported history sits with everything captured after it, so a report does not stop at the day you switched.
- 4
Then it keeps itself
Hours are captured as the work happens, corrections append with their author and reason, and a finalised invoice issues a certificate the client can check.
Point it at one team for a week.
Create the account, put the agent on a handful of desks, and leave it alone. On Friday you read the week instead of reconstructing it: hours against their projects, focus and idle per person, and the timesheets already filled in.
